Neil
By the writer describing Neil's face so precisely it created a mood that helps make the reader feel like they are actually there and participating in all that happen with Neil. Without their details on his face most of hid personality would be lost giving the whole paper a very boring description of the event. The writer helped their description by making a beginning middle and end to the event. Next to describing his face the quotes in the paper gave a more personal experience in reading the paper. It gave a really dominant impression of who he really is though the quotes. Also the small details of the setting help give why he was acting how he was giving the reader more information on Neil and showing who he is.

Ground Zero
Suzanne Berne's essay "Ground Zero" suggests that at first glance at something you might only be taking in a small amount of the overall site that is really there. It gave a personal experienced that could only be matched by actually being at the site in person. By her going into detail about not just what she sees at first glance but going into detail every time something new comes into her view gives the expression. The essay really empathizes the saying don’t judge a book by its cover. At first glance she sees one thing but every time she looks again there is a more to the site. The depth she goes to explain everything she sees allows people to envision the site and not just what is there but also how it would make you feel if you were actually there. Her last quote “And by the act of our visiting…that space fills up again,” is the best reason why people flock to ground zero they don’t want it to be gone.
